Recipe For Honey Glazed Chicken

Preparation Time: 15 minutes

Cooking Time: 35 minutes

Total Time: 50 minutes

Servings: 4

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (approximately 1.5 lbs/680g)
  • 1/3 cup (80ml) honey
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for added spiciness)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro or parsley for garnish (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, blend honey, soy sauce, orange juice, minced garlic, ground ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using) until thoroughly combined.
  3. Warm the olive oil in a large, oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Place the chicken breasts in the skillet and sear them for 2-3 minutes on each side until they have a golden-brown appearance.
  4. Evenly pour the prepared honey glaze mixture onto the chicken breasts in the skillet.
  5. Move the skillet into the preheated oven and let it bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). Halfway through cooking, baste the chicken with the skillet’s glaze to achieve a luscious, shiny finish.
  6. Take the skillet out of the oven and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes.
  7. Place the chicken breasts on a serving plate and drizzle any remaining glaze from the skillet on top. If desired, garnish with chopped cilantro or parsley and sesame seeds.
  8. Serve immediately with your choice of side dishes.
