  • 1 small cabbage, thinly sliced (around 4 cups)
  • 1 medium-sized onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 1/4 cup tamari or low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon powdered ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 scallions, chopped (for garnish)


  1. Combine tamari or soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, powdered ginger, and red chili flakes (if using) in a small bowl. Mix well and set aside.
