Grilled Cheese Sandwich Recipe

Recipe Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients:

  • 4 slices of bread (white, whole wheat, or your preference)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, Swiss, or your choice)
  • Optional fillings: sliced tomatoes, cooked bacon, sautéed mushrooms, etc.

Instructions:

  1. Preheat a griddle or skillet over medium heat.
  2. Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.
  3. Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, on the griddle.
  4. Sprinkle about ¾ cup of shredded cheese on top of each bread slice.
  5. If desired, add any optional fillings on one of the slices.
  6. Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side up.
  7. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, until the bottom bread slice turns golden brown.
  8. Carefully flip the sandwich with a spatula and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, until the other side is golden brown and the cheese has melted.
  9. Remove from the heat and let it cool for a minute or two before serving.
  10. Cut the grilled cheese sandwich diagonally or into halves and enjoy!
