Goulash Recipe

Recipe for Goulash

Serves: 4-6


  • 1kg beef chuck, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 can of diced tomatoes (400g)
  • 1.5 liters of beef broth
  • 3 potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the beef cubes, season with salt and pepper, and brown on all sides. Remove the beef and set aside.
  3. In the same pot, add the onions, garlic, peppers, paprika, and caraway seeds. Cook until the onions are translucent.
  4. Return the beef to the pot, and add the diced tomatoes and beef broth. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Lower the heat, cover the pot, and let it cook for about 1.5 hours.
  6. Add the cubed potatoes and cook for another 30 minutes, until the potatoes are tender.
  7. Adjust the seasoning if necessary, and serve hot.
